Interesting Study on Apple Laptops by MacInTouch

I've had a G3 PowerBook for about 5 years now and it's a workhorse, although it's pretty banged up by now. This study, which is very well written and the data is fantastic, points to the vulnerabilities in the G3 line. My PB has recently gone under repair needing a new hard drive after I accidentally dropped my laptop bag. I thought it had enough padding to break the fall, but it didn't and the drive heads got damaged. I also lost my optical drive to a similar fall. First, the tray mechanism broke, and then the unit came apart. The threading on the power supply cable also gets frayed and breaks from the sheathing of this particular model's power cord. I've been through 2 of those and both had the same result.

I really have a great laptop though. I'm running Tiger on it and it has FireWire. At 500 MHz and 768 MB of RAM, it's not as snappy as my iMac G5, but it get's the job done. Ideally, it'd be great to have a TiBook with a huge hard drive and 2 GB of RAM to do Audio and Video stuff on.

Anybody have any recommendations on secure laptop bags or cases?
