PDF2ID

David Blatner, from InDesign Secrets, has responded to my question about opening PDF files in InDesign natively. It turns out that there is an InDesign plug-in called PDF2ID by Recosoft, that allows you to do just that. Unfortunately, it's $249 for the plug-in. That's a pretty steep price for limited functionality. Still, it's great to see that someone else had the same problem as me and I'm grateful that David could respond.
